Our take Opinion

The Founder and CEO at AppSumo raises what changed at an email tool called SendFox after years of flat revenue, naming pricing, update emails with surveys, and the founder using the product personally. A reader can take from it that a pricing model can work against a product's heaviest users, and that sending changes and asking customers what they want is a cheap way to find what to fix. It suits small software products with a stalled base and a founder who can run the tool on real work. The evidence is one product and a few months of growth, so it cannot show which change mattered most, and it may not hold where pricing already rewards heavy use.
